I have to preface this review with the confession that I’m not much into makeup. Or I haven’t been – overweight and wearing glasses, I’ve been of the mind that you can’t make a silk purse from a pig’s ear (being the more polite way of putting it!) – but hitting middle age has lead me to think stuff it!
Revolution is a brand I’ve had my eye on for a year or so, but then kind of forgot about until my 14 year old daughter dragged me into Superdrug and I saw the stand. There was a generous range, but I opted for their Re-Loaded Affection eyeshadow palette.
The palette contains 15 pans of warm neutral shades with a subtle sparkle, plus a black for dramatic flair. They’re easy to apply and to blend, even by complete noobs like myself.
I love that the pans are replaceable, meaning that if you have a favourite shade and go through that quicker than the others, you can replace just the one pan, rather than buy a whole new palette.
Another thing I love about Revolution is their prices. I tend to find make-up pricey for what you get (£7 for nail polish? I don’t think so!) so this 15 pan palette at £4 is great value. Revolution make-up is also vegan, gluten free, and cruelty free, meaning I can slap up without guilt.
